The Right Room Leaves a Scent

I still smell like the hug I got after a networking event this morning. I realize for some people that might be a huge “ick”, but for me, it means I was in the right room with the right people.

I was scrolling Facebook this morning (guilty) when I saw a post from Melanie about her She Rises Collective October Power Brunch happening at 10:30. By some coincidence, this week is light on meetings, so I RSVP’d “yes”. Best yes I’ve said all week. (Ok, ok, it’s still Monday but STILL!)

Melanie led us through a series of questions that really got us thinking about this last year: what we want to keep, what we want to leave behind, how we plan on doing that. She then encouraged us to talk at our tables of 5-6 people about our answers.

I can’t accurately describe the feeling of being at a table with a group of women who were so genuine, vulnerable, and thoughtful. It’s an hour and a half after the event has ended and I’m still buzzing. So much so that I had to write this blog post.

We talked about everything from “I want to post more on social media” to “it’s in God’s hands” and the depth and range was remarkable. I talked about loosening my white knuckle grip on control and operating outside of a scarcity mindset. And I’m personally on my own spiritual journey, opening my mind to a Higher Power. And when you’re in a room like that because you just happened to scroll by something on Facebook, you start to go “ok, I see what you’re doing there, HP”.

And this is the second “room” I’ve found myself in in these last couple of weeks that just feels right in my soul.

I think it compounds, you know?

The more you open yourself up to what’s healthy for your True Self, the more open you become to other soul-feeding experiences.

And you know what feeds my soul? Making true connections with other women, to the point where we leave giving each other hugs already talking about when we’re going to get together again. So yeah, I’ll wear my fellow entrepreneur’s residual perfume with pride, knowing that scent will now forever bring me back to this moment in time of soul-feeding collaboration.
